Summer 2008

Welcome to NEC Admissions! We hope that you find these pages informative. If you have questions about our admissions process, please feel free to call our general office number (617-585-1101) or the specific Admissions Counselor for your major/program as listed at the bottom of this page.

Please note that at this time we have openings for the Fall 2008 semester in a limited number of departments. Contact us at the number above if you are interested to find out if we are accepting applications for your major/program.

We will accept applications for the Spring 2009 semester (beginning in January 2009) in a number of departments. Please contact our office for more information.

Here are important dates to note on your calendar:
 
November 1 : Deadline for postmark of January (Spring) admission applications
December 1: Priority deadline for postmark of September (Fall) admission and financial aid applications and preliminary audition recordings.
February 1: Filing deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
February 1: Deadline for postmark of audition recordings for applicants not requesting an in-person audition
March 1: Deadline for receipt of TOEFL results for applicants who are not native speakers of English

We encourage you to visit our Web site often, as it is always the best resource for information about NEC’s programs, faculty and performance opportunities. You are also welcome to submit an inquiry.

 

 

Prospective students are encouraged to visit New England Conservatory. During the summer, the Admissions Office offers tours of the school Monday through Friday at 11:00 AM. Please call or email the office to reserve a place on any of these tours.

 

  • Prospective students may contact many of the faculty directly by e-mail.  You will find a link at the bottom of each faculty member’s biography for those who use e-mail.  Faculty members without e-mail can be contacted through the chair of the department.
  • If you need to find hotel accommodations in Boston, The Hilton Boston Back Bay offers guests of New England Conservatory a discounted rate.
  • If you have any questions relating to housing or student life, please go directly to that part of the NEC Web site. The 2007-2008 academic calendar is also available online.
