Malcolm Lowe is concertmaster of the BSO and performs with the
Boston Symphony Chamber Players. He was formerly concertmaster
of the Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec, the Worcester Symphony,
the Regina Symphony, and the New York String Seminar. He has performed
with all the major Canadian orchestras, including the Montreal
Symphony, the National Arts Center Orchestra in Ottawa, and the
Toronto Symphony. He was a top prize winner in the 1979 Montreal
International Violin Competition.
Studies at Regina Conservatory of Music (Saskatchewan); Meadowmount
School of Music (N.Y.), Curtis Institute. Violin with Howard Leyton-Brown,
Ivan Galamian, Sally Thomas, Jaime Laredo; chamber music with
Josef Gingold, Jascha Brodsky, Felix Galamir, Mischa Schneider.
