Campus Renewal

Goal: $20 million

The Campaign for New England Conservatory begins a major commitment to upgrade the school’s campus and bring it up to the standard of our venerable Jordan Hall, one of the nation’s most celebrated performance spaces. The following initiatives are vital to fostering community and enhancing student life on campus. With your help, NEC can literally lay the foundation for an exciting future:

  • Our libraries will be consolidated into a single location and enlarged, from approximately 13,000 square feet to over 30,000 square feet, to accommodate NEC’s extensive collections. New technology, small study rooms, and archive space will all be added.
  • Student housing, presently an outdated structure serving less than 15% of all students, will be replaced by a larger, state–of–the–art dormitory.
  • A community space will be created where students, faculty, and staff can meet informally.
  • NEC’s practice and rehearsal rooms will be increased in number, and existing spaces will be renovated.
