Recipients
Since 1996, New England Conservatory has conferred the Anna Bobbit Gardner/Coretta Scott King Lifetime Achievement Award on individuals and groups who have more than 25 years of recognizable New England-based music and cultural program development experience that targets, benefits, and nourishes the Black community, Black youths, Black artists, or Black educators.
The NEC Gospel Planning board is proud and honored to present two important awards annually at the Thomas A. Dorsey Gospel Jubilee - the NEC Thomas A. Dorsey Gospel Music Award, and the Anna Bobbit Gardner/Coretta Scott King Lifetime Achievement Award - which confer faculty status to the recipient at the Thomas A. Dorsey Summer Gospel Institute. Recipients of these awards also become members of the NEC Gospel Planning Board and participate as NEC Millennium Choir Directors.
