Message from the Dean of Students
Welcome to the NEC College Web Site. Within these pages you will find an abundance of important information regarding Academic Advising and Registration, International Student Services, and Student Life activities at NEC. You will also find important information about new initiatives in student services, curricular changes, and special Conservatory events.
As we enter the mid-point of the semester, there are a number of administrative procedures that students need to be aware of:
- Academic Advising/Registration
The academic advising/registration period has begun. Detailed information regarding academic advising and registration will be distributed via NEC e-mail. A summary of academic advising/registration procedures may be found at Academic Advising and Registration for Spring 2009. It is important to meet with your advisor and register in a timely manner in order to get the best choice of classes and to avoid a late registration fee.
- Mid-Semester Warnings
Some of you may receive a mid-semester warning. Don't panic! Read the warning, talk to your teacher and meet with your academic advisor or dean, as instructed. And always remember that you can withdraw from a class until November 26.
- Final Exams
Final exams run from December 15 to December 17. The schedule can be viewed here and is posted on the Office of Student Services bulletin board. Be sure to check the exam schedule before making travel plans.
I hope that you are having a great semester. But rest assured, if things are not going so well, you can always turn to the Office of Student Services staff for assistance.
Sincerely,
Thomas Handel
Dean of Students
