Vocal Performance
Until forced to retire from the stage, baritone Bruce Burroughs performed
leading roles with opera companies across the country including Busoni's
Arlecchino, Mozart's Don Giovanni and the American
premiere of Philip Glass's Einstein on the Beach. After
the onset of a degenerative spinal disorder, Burroughs took up the
pen, serving
as
a music critic for the Los Angeles Times and as editor-in-chief
of The Opera Quarterly . One of the definitive
