Alumni Profile: Robert Dodson '62

Cello Performance

Robert Dodson served as New England Conservatory’s Provost from the summer of 2004 to the summer of 2007. He was previously Dean of Oberlin College (1999-2004), Dean of the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music (1989-1999), Vice Principal and then Principal of the Royal Conservatory of Music at the University of Toronto (1981-1988), and Associate Professor and Artist-in-Residence at Queen's University in Ontario (1969-1981). Dodson has had a career as a performer with various orchestras and chamber groups, most notably as cellist of the Vághy String Quartet from 1969 to 1981.
