Mildred Miller Posvar

Following 23 years as a principal artist at the Metropolitan Opera, where she was famous for her appearances as Cherubino in the Marriage of Figaro, Mildred Miller Posvar founded the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh. Her mission for Pittsburgh was that her opera company would nurture emerging artists and educate audiences. She took as her model Boris Goldovsky’s New England Opera Company where her own career was launched. She continues to teach at Carnegie Mellon Univeristy.
