Thank you for joining us for a successful Commencement Reunion weekend! We were thrilled to welcome alumni from across the country and abroad back to NEC to celebrate milestone anniversaries.

Friends from the class of '54 reunite at reunion.

On Friday night, Alumni kicked-off the weekend at a reception in the Keller Room before heading over to Symphony Hall for By George by the Boston Pops.    Following the concert, Pops conductor Keith Lockhart greeted the NEC group.

At Saturday's workshops and presentations, reunion goers learned about NEC's current initiatives in music-in-education; were inspired by composer and faculty member Michael Gandolfi's tales of music creation; enjoyed Tan Crone's reflection on her rewarding career as a collaborative musician; and journeyed to Africa and India through Eric Charry's descriptive tales of life as an ethnomusicologist.   Later that evening, alumni were treated by NEC's amazing student talents as the Class of 2004 performed their Commencement Concert in Jordan Hall.

Sunday brought more than 100 alumni to the annual alumni awards luncheon in Brown Hall.   Alumni of all ages enjoyed seeing NEC friends and reminiscing over yearbooks.   Coretta Scott King '54, Tan Crone '54 '55, Michael Gandolfi '79 '81 and Eric Charry '79 '83 were each honored with the Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Award.   A highlight of the luncheon was the performance by NEC student ensemble, the Pentatonic Singers.   Coretta Scott King later gave the Commencement address in recognition of her 50 th anniversary from NEC to the graduating class of   '04.
