On Friday night, Alumni kicked-off the weekend at a reception in the Keller Room before heading over to Symphony Hall for Pink Martini and the Boston Pops. Following the concert, Pops conductor Keith Lockhart greeted the NEC group.
At Saturday's workshops and presentations, reunion goers learned about NEC's current initiatives in music-in-education with a masterclass given by faculty member Donald Weilerstein. Faculty member, and alumnus Charles Peltz ' 85 MM. gave a presentation “NEC Training Becomes NEC Teaching: One Person’s Perspective”. Following faculty presentations, our Outstanding Alumni award recipients gave their own inspiring presentations. Later that evening, alumni were treated by NEC's amazing student talents as the Class of 2005 performed their Commencement Concert in Jordan Hall.

Sunday brought people together at the annual alumni awards luncheon in Brown Hall. Alumni of all ages enjoyed seeing NEC friends and reminiscing over yearbooks. Harold Farberman '55, Peter Sykes '78, '80 MM, Raymond Jackson '55 and Randy Hodgkinson '76, '80 MM, '82 AD were each honored with the Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Award. A highlight of the luncheon was the performance by NEC student performer Young-Ah Tak.
