All programs set enrollment goals to determine the number of admission offers made in any given term. Enrollment quotas insure that all students at NEC are eligible for maximum participation in all curricular offerings and performance ensembles. Each applicant is considered for admission based on a competitive review of his/her audition results, overall academic history, artistic preparation, and letters of recommendation.

Written notification regarding admission status (i.e., admit, wait-list, deny) is mailed to all applicants who have completed the audition and submitted all required supporting material. Under no circumstances are admission decisions communicated via e-mail.

Admitted students are given thirty (30) days to notify NEC regarding their acceptance of the offer of admission and intention to enroll at NEC. A tuition deposit (non-refundable) of $500 (U.S. dollars) is required to hold a place in the incoming class and maintain any offer of financial aid. Any offer of admission by NEC is considered conditional until all required official paperwork, including final transcripts with grades and degree posting (as applicable), is received and reviewed by the Office of Admission.

Review of applications and subsequent admission status notification continues until all program openings are filled or the beginning of classes, whichever comes first.

Spring (January) Applicants

Students interested in January admission should call the Admissions Office to inquire about anticipated program openings before filing an application. If spring enrollment is available, admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis beginning November 15.
