About the Staff
Angela Myles Beeching directs the NEC Career Services Center and teaches the four-course series, the Professional Artist Seminar. A Fulbright Scholar and Harriet Hale Woolley grant recipient, Ms. Beeching holds a doctorate in cello performance from SUNY Stony Brook. She has guest lectured at Peabody Institute, the University of Texas Austin, University of Memphis, and the Eastman School of Music. A frequent guest speaker, she has delivered conference presentations for the National Association of Schools of Music and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. She co-chairs the Network of Music Career Development Officers and as a board member, chairs the education committee of Chamber Music America. Her book, “Beyond Talent: Creating a Successful Career in Music,” was published by Oxford University Press in 2005.
Amanda Condon-Rivera, Career Services Center Coordinator, manages Bridge: Worldwide Music Connection, NEC's web-based subscription database. Bridge now offers over 2,800 searchable job, competition, festival, internship, workshop, and grant listings. Amanda has assisted the rock band Tobacco Mosaic and Boston-based piano-rock band The Radio Knights with management, booking, and publicity throughout the Boston area and New England. She previously worked in radio doing Marketing and Promotions for WODS Oldies 103.3 FM and sales at WZLX 100.7 FM. Readily able to handle musicians' career stress, she worked for the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for the past five years. With a background in vocal performance, Amanda has participated in multiple ensembles performing classical, musical theatre, pop, rock, and R&B. She has performed in the Boston area at the All Asia Bar, Berklee, Symphony Hall, and at Tanglewood at Seiji Ozawa Hall and the Koussevitzky Music Shed. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and earned a degree in Music Business and Management and Vocal Performance. Outside of assisting students and alumni with their career goals, Amanda is active as a photographer and enjoys hearing new and up and coming bands and artists. |
