Vocalist Bernard Lyon ’70 M.M. has retired from 35 years of performing. He has had 2,000 performances in total, as well as thousands of musical coachings and rehearsal stagings. In addition, Bernard was given the honor of the title of Kammersännger in 1990. He now lives in Oldenburg, Germany. 1/12/08 |

Vocalists Joan Heller ’70 M.M. and Patrice Pastore ’82 M.M. performed Polyutterances, a piece by NEC faculty member Robert Cogan, at San Francisco Conservatory’s BluePrint New Music Project. They received a positive review in SFCV.org for their performance. 7/3/07 |

Cheryl Susheel Bibbs ’70 M.M. has been touring colleges and music departments across the country teaching master classes titled, “The Art of the Spiritual: A Guide to Enhance Appreciation and Performance of the Spiritual Through Its Elements and African Heritage.” 7/3/07 |

Robert Bailey ’70 M.M. is currently residing in France – he retired in 2003 after 21 years as General Director of the Portland Opera. Robert was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1998 for his work in promoting French culture in Portland. He produced French opera including the first performance outside France of Reynaldo Hahn’s Le Marchand de Venise. Robert studied voice at NEC, and after graduating he initiated cultural programming for National Public Radio and managed the Western Opera Theatre in San Fransico before working at the Portland Opera in 1982. 7/3/07 |
