  Ann Strubler ’75, ’77 M.M. was recently featured in an article in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s publication, Performance magazine. The article, “Family Ties,” talks about Ann, who was an adopted child, and her journey to find her birth parents. Ann lives in Oakland, Mich., and she is the first violinist in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. 1/12/08
Justin Locke '75, has published a book about his 18 years years as a freelance double bass player in Boston. Real Men Don't Rehearse is a collection of hilarious tales of concert disasters including the night it rained in the pit of the Colonial Theater, cannon mishaps in 1812, inadvertant bass section inebriation at Pops concerts at the Hatch Shell, kiddie koncerts gone horribly awry, the night he nearly burned down the Orpheum Theater. Locke is now a corporate speaker who explains and compares the leadership techniques of the most effective conductors he played for (including Arthur Fiedler and Henry Mancini).   Judy Niemack ’75 released a new album, “Blue Nights,” on the BluJazz Productions.  She is joined by Jim McNeeley, Dennis Irwin, Victor Lewis, her husband Jeanfrançois Prins on guitar (also producing and arranging), and guests Don Sickler and Gary Bartz.  She is the Professor of Voice at Jazz Institute Berlin, Germany and is the author of the book “Hear It and Sing It!”  Judy recently directed a jazz vocal workshop at Sweet Rhythm in New York City. 7/3/07
  Gary Wedow ’75 M.M. is Chorus Master and a conductor at New York City Opera.  He is also on faculty at the Julliard School. 7/3/07
