Erica Goldman ’78 M.M. currently conducts two choirs, middle school and younger. She is also a music specialist at Portland Jewish Academy. Her daughter recently graduated from Boston Conservatory with a Master of Music degree in Music Education. 1/12/08

Kandinksy Trio: Trios in Foreign Lands Benedict Goodfriend ’78, as a member of the Kandinsky Trio (with pianist Elizabeth Bachelder and cellist Alan Weinstein ’83), celebrates the group’s 20th anniversary season. The trio has performed in over 200 U.S. cities, appearing on such concert series as Atlanta’s Spivey Hall Presents, New York’s Miller Theatre Presents, Great Performances at Vanderbilt, and many others. The trio’s latest CD, Trios in Foreign Lands, has become a mainstay of numerous radio stations. It was called “One of the best chamber music recordings of the year” by London’s Music and Vision magazine. Benedict’s recent solo appearances have included a performance of the original (1904) version of the Sibelius Concerto with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, and the Mendelssohn D minor concerto in Croatia with the Solisti di Zagreb.  Benedict currently lives in Roanoke, Va. 1/12/08
 

Sheila Heffernon ’78 M.M. currently teaches at the Northfield-Mt. Hermon School in Northfield, Mass., where she helped to rebuild the choral program. She also conducts an adult chamber choir, the Da Camera Singers, in Amherst, Mass. The ensemble recently performed the Byrd Mass in Four Voices as well as part of the madrigals from the Di Lasso Lagrima Di San Pietro. In addition, Sheila works with a children’s chorus, which she enjoys immensely. She is currently working on her PhD in Music Education at UMass, where she has been on the adjunct faculty for six years. 1/12/08

Donal Fox ’78 has been busy with multiple projects, including a performance at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston for the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theatre, and a presentation of his Blues on Bach Project at the 100th Anniversary of the Bach Festival in Bethlehem, Pa. He was the first featured jazz artist to perform at the Bethlehem Bach Festival. Donal has also been visiting artist and composer in a new program funded by the U.S. State Department, the Fusion Arts Exchange, which was hosted by Northeastern University Department of Music. In July 2007, Donal performed at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York where he presented the debut of his Scarlatti Jazz Suite Project. 11/20/07
  Maureen Horgan ’78, ’79 has been granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Music at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA. She is an active soloist in the area, and performs as a trombonist with the New Hampshire Music Festival in the summer months. 7/3/07
