Jonathan Feist ’90, ’92 M.M. has posted a new blog, Writing About Music. He is also Managing Editor of Berklee Press and lives in Harvard, Mass. 8/20/08 |

Mitchell Lutch ’90 M.M. is currently Director of Bands at Central College in Pella, Iowa. In May of 2008 he toured New York and Boston with the school’s wind and percussion ensembles, including a performance in the Great Hall in the Faneuil Hall Building. 8/20/08 |

Monica Germino ’90 is a member of the all-woman chamber ensemble ELECTRA, which recently released a CD/DVD, Able To Be. On the CD/DVD set, they perform works by Louis Andriessen, Ron Ford, Donnacha Dennehy, among others. Monica resides in Amsterdam, where she works closely with Andriessen.8/20/08

James Stephenson ’90 had his new work, Cousins, premiered by Branford Marsalis and Rodney Mack at Interlochen’s National Music Camp on July 15, 2007. The Houston Symphony premiered his Stars and Stripes Fanfare on July 3, 2007, and the Bozeman Symphony will premiere Concertino and Fanfare in September of 2007. 1/13/08 |

Flautist Hiroaki Honshuku '90 M.M. released Are You Blue, which features NEC alums George W. Russell, Jr. '90 M.M. on piano, Noboru Kinukawa '92 M.M. on bass guitar, Takuya Nakamura '93 M.M. on piano. Sergio Brandao '84, '88 M.M. was the photographer for the session. Tim Anderson ’90 M.M. has been appointed to the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Trombone. He is also currently principal trombone with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and former principal trombone with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. He performs as a soloist, and has recorded with many ensembles including the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. 7/3/07 |

David Aspinwall ’90 has done much traveling in recent years. He was a member of the Air Force Band in Washington D.C., but left to become a skiing instructor and Army National Guard Musician in Vermont. He then moved to Austin, TX and began a successful clarinet studio. He married in 2005, auditioned for military band openings in Washington D.C., and in July of 2006 he won the position of Clarinetist with the U.S. Navy Band – he moved back to D.C. in the fall. 7/3/07 |

Rev. Ed Broms ’90 M.M. has taken the position of Music Director and Organist at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul on Tremont St. in Boston. His duties there include performing at all cathedral services and all ordinations, as well as directing the choir. The choir is broadcast on 99.5 FM’s Sunday Mornings at the Cathedral. Ed also oversees the Wednesday Noontime Recital Series at the cathedral, and he has programmed and performs in The Spirit of Coltrane, which is a monthly concert series aimed at performing all of John Coltrane’s recorded work. He is currently adjunct faculty and Artist-In-Residence at Eastern Nazarene College. A composer as well as author and performer, Ed has completed his first organ symphony, entitled Ainulindale, which is based on J.R.R. Tolkein’s creation story at the beginning of Simarillion. 7/3/07 |

Stacie Dunlop ’90, ’91 was on the faculty at Acadia University from 2005 – 2006 teaching private voice lessons to students there. She now lives in Nova Scotia with her husband Allen. Dunlop recently prepared for the world premiere of a new work by Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer, which was performed in May 2007 by the Juno award winning Land’s End Chamber Ensemble in Calgary, Alberta. In September 2007 she will complete her Master in Vocal Performance/ Pedagogy degree at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland. 7/3/07 |
