As a student in the trumpet program, you will have opportunities to work in large and small ensembles such as the NEC Wind Ensemble and the NEC Jordan Winds, as well three full orchestras, which perform throughout the calendar year in venues such as NEC’s own Jordan Hall. You will attend weekly one-on-one private lessons with distinguished faculty. Yearly NEC event such as the Brass Bash, which features NEC students, offer other unique performance opportunities for trumpet players at NEC. Besides studio work and regular performance opportunities, course work in music history and theory will help give depth and understanding to your performance repertoire. The liberal arts curriculum is an opportunity to study major academic disciplines as well as cultural, social, intellectual, and political contexts for music.
