Ralph Gomberg

Ralph Gomberg, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's principal oboist for 37 years, died December 9, 2006. Gomberg taught at NEC from the mid-1950s through the mid-1970s, and was part of a musical dynasty that included brother Harold, who was principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic, as well as former students who are principal oboists of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic.
