Amy Lieberman
Director of Choral Activities
Currently a doctoral candidate in Choral and Orchestral conducting at Boston University, Lieberman received her B.A. in Music from Stanford University and her M.M. in Choral Conducting from Yale University. She was the Director of Choral Activities at Wilkes University, where she also conducted the orchestra and was the Music Director for the Musical Theater program. She has also taught for the Orchestra of St. Luke's in New York City, the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, and the Belvoir Terrace Fine and Performing Arts Center in Lenox, Mass.
She has been an assistant conductor and pre-concert lecturer numerous times for the Cantata Singers of Boston, Mass. She has appeared as guest conductor of the Lexington Symphony (Mass.), the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and as assistant conductor of the Rhode Island Philharmonic. Recently, Lieberman led the Chamber Orchestra in Benjamin Britten's War Requiem, at the American Choral Directors' Association Regional Convention in Boston.
Lieberman is also the artistic director of ArtsAhimsa, an international performance series that explores the connection between the power of the arts and non-violent causes. Her work with ArtsAhimsa has brought her to New Delhi and Calcutta, India to give conducting masterclasses and concerts.
