Greg Smucker
Opera Studies
Greg Smucker studied with the late Wesley Balk, a noted pioneer in the field of singer-actor training. As a freelance director, Smucker has directed productions for the Minnesota Opera, Northstar Opera, the New Opera Music Theatre Initiative, Underground Railway Theatre, Stoneham Theatre, Centastage, Loring Playhouse, Red Eye Collaboration, University of Minnesota, Goshen College, and St. Cloud State University. Smucker was managing director of Theatre for Young America in Kansas City, a professional theatre for children. He was also co-founder and artistic director of 15 HEAD, a theatre lab, a critically acclaimed experimental theatre company in Minneapolis specializing in company-created productions.
