Timothy
Steele has a varied and extensive background as a collaborative
pianist, vocal coach, audition pianist, and educator. He has
served as assistant conductor/pianist for over 75 productions
with 18 different companies, including Boston Lyric Opera, Opera
Theatre of St. Louis, Wolf Trap Opera, Central City Opera, Opera
Aperta, Portland Opera Repertory Theatre, Des Moines Metro Opera,
and Long Beach Opera. Recent highlights include Carmen on
the Common (BLO) and the world premiere of Argento's revised
Miss Havisham's Fire (OTSL). He has been featured in
performances in Europe, China, and Russia, and as an audition
pianist he has played for the national finals of the MacAllister
Opera Auditions. In Boston he plays regularly for the weekly
Bach cantatas at Emmanuel Church, and has performed with the
Handel and Haydn Society, the Auros Group for New Music, The
Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and the American Repertory
Theatre, among others.
