Pianist Cameron Stowe has earned a reputation as a leading specialist in the study and performance of song recital repertoire. He has received numerous awards and much critical praise for his commitment to this art form as a performer, researcher, and teacher. Currently, he is the only pianist to hold a doctorate from The Juilliard School with a specialized focus in song and vocal chamber music. Distinguished honors include prizes from the Wigmore Hall International Song Competition and Tanglewood Music Center, research grants from the Theodore Presser Foundation and University of Toronto, and the Richard F. French Doctoral Dissertation Award, Juilliard's highest academic honor. 

Noted for his spirited and sensitive playing, Stowe maintains an active performance schedule as a collaborative artist, having performed recently at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Festival Radio France (Montpellier), Ravinia Music Festival, San Francisco's Herbst Theater, Boston's Gardner Museum, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, La Jolla Chamber Music Society, Philadelphia's Academy of Music, Alice Tully Concert Hall at Lincoln Center, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Asociación Cultural Humboldt in Caracas, Venezuela. He has given world premiere performances of songs by Victoria Bond, Daron Hagen, and Richard Pearson Thomas, George Tsontakis ("Midnight Rain" song cycle) and he has worked closely with composers Richard Hundley and Lee Hoiby while preparing for performances of their music.

Also devoted to his role as an educator, Stowe has presented masterclasses and educational programs throughout the United States. In 2004, he developed a new graduate degree program for collaborative pianists at University of Toronto, where he continues to teach courses in song repertoire and ensemble performance. He also teaches and coaches regularly in New York City and at Chicago Opera Theater.

Stowe has also studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Académie de Musique de Sion (Switzerland) and he received two fellowships at Tanglewood Music Center.
