To be eligible for Federal College Work-Study (FCWS) funding,
a student must:
-
File a Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA).
-
Be a United States citizen or a permanent
resident. International students are not eligible for Work-Study.
-
Be accepted as a degree or diploma candidate
at NEC, and be enrolled at least half-time. Please note: NEC/Tufts
double degree candidates may not be hired as FCWS workers
at NEC, even if they have been awarded FCWS funding by Tufts
University.
-
Demonstrate financial need as determined by
the federal government's calculations in the FAFSA.
-
Show evidence of academic or creative promise,
and be capable, in the opinion of the Conservatory, of maintaining
good standing and satisfactory academic progress while employed
at NEC.
Students who complete the financial aid application process
are considered for FCWS when their files are reviewed. Students
deemed eligible have an FCWS award as part of their financial
aid package. The dollar amount of the award is the earnings
ceiling for the period the award was made.
Students who did not apply for financial assistance or who
did not receive a FCWS award as part of their package are not
eligible to work under the FCWS program.
