Termination of Employment

Eligibility | How to Find a Job | Student Payroll
Paperwork | Regulations | Responsibility | Termination

It is the sincerest hope of the Conservatory that the termination of any student employee will not be necessary. However, NEC reserves the right to discontinue a student's employment at any time.

Students who do not fulfill their employment responsibilities may be terminated by their supervisor. The following are grounds for dismissing a worker from his/her position:

  • Poor work performance.
  • Habitual tardiness or absence.
  • Violation of confidentiality.
  • Dishonesty.
  • Other causes to be determined by the supervisor.

Tampering with time sheets is ground for dismissal, and will also result in the loss of Work-Study eligibility and action by the Disciplinary Committee.

If you choose to resign from a job, give your supervisor as much advance notice as possible (no less than one week).
