Why do I give?
This is a team that will take it all the way to the end.
— Harry Pratt, Trustee
I'm a big fan of the Red Sox, and each year I greet the season stretching from April through October with joyful anticipation. But I look forward with even greater anticipation to a different season running from September through May when New England Conservatory's students and faculty play splendid concerts at Jordan Hall and nearby venues.
Unlike my nail-biting time at Fenway Park, my hours in Jordan Hall are stress-free. With perfect pitch and a stellar rotation, I know that this talented roster of musicians will bring in the winning score, whether the lineup includes music of my favorite composer Bach or a piece by an NEC composition major, just up from the minors.
I've also discovered that NEC's musicians give 110% to the very end they're real champions. And as a donor, I'm proud to have taken the field in the triumphant march of NEC's $100 million "Gift of Music" capital campaign to its very end, scheduled around the time of the All Star break.
