Registering for Kodaly Level I Certificate Classes

Registration for the Kodaly program is a two step process:

1) Complete an Application Form with supporting documentation

2) If you are approved to enter the program, you can complete your course registration through Continuing Education

Entrance requirements: B.A. or B.M. in music performance or music education. No audition.

Exit requirements (due before the last day of Level III): Music Retrieval System, Personal Teaching Video, Conduct the KMI summer institute choir, and successful completion of all required coursework.

Application procedures: Download and complete a Kodaly Certification Applicant's Information Form and send it together with an official transcript, your current resume, and the non-refundable $40 registration fee to Mary Epstein, NEC Continuing Education, 290 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115. When you are notified of your acceptance, you will also receive instructions about how to register.

Costs: This is a full year registration for all four weekday evening courses plus the Saturday BAKE Workshops, at a tuition cost of $1,575.00 for the 6 graduate credits and a one-time $35 registration fee with the School of Continuing Education. Students purchase needed materials at the first meeting of each course. You may complete Level III at the NEC Summer Kodály Music Institute.
