All in the Family: How a Classical Education Led to a Hollywood Career After speaking about his work and approach to creating music Roger Kellaway '59 shared a masterful rendition of New England Transport and invited long-time friend Sam Parkins '54 M.M. to join him for some improvisation. |

Open Sing George Emlen '79 M.M. led an eager group of alumni through some favorite scores as well as new pieces. The sing included: Africa (Billings), Jubilate Deo, Shumayela, Jesu, joy of man's desiring (J.S. Bach), Hallelujah, Amen (Handel), Sing we and chant it (Morely), The May Day Carol (arr. NEC has long celebrated the tradition of welcoming alumni back to campus and honoring those celebrating milestone reunions. This year the Alumni Association is pleased to present longtime piano faculty member Veronica Jochum with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Outstanding Alumni Awards will also be presented to alumni in the 50th, 35th, 25th and 10th Reunion Classes. All members of the NEC community are invited to join us for this festive weekend, which this year includes a special nod to our piano performance majors. No matter how long it's been since your own graduation, we hope you'll come renew friendships, reconnect with teachers and celebrate the incredible community of people that is NEC. |
