They help students select courses, meet educational and career goals, remedy academic difficulties, and better understand NEC's purposes and policies.

The Director of the D.M.A. program provides curricular advising for students in the doctoral program.

Andrea Vij, Coordinator of Academic Advising

Andrea advises students in the following majors: choral conducting, collaborative piano, composition, guitar, harp, historical performance, musicology, music theory, piano, vocal performance/pedagogy, woodwind.

Andrew Ryker, Academic Advisor

Andrew advises students in the following majors: brass, contemporary improvisation, jazz studies, percussion, strings (except guitar), and wind ensemble conducting.

Students who change majors or add a second major during their program may or may not change Academic Advisors.
