Presidential search continues |
|
In a letter to the NEC community dated May 15, NEC Board of Trustees Vice Chair Harold I. Pratt offers updates on NEC's search for a new president.
President Daniel Steiner has agreed to continue as President, while the Presidential Search Committee continues its efforts to "identify a candidate able to assume the Presidency and lead the Conservatory, now a world-class institution as a result of Daniel's leadership, into the exciting and challenging world of the education of musicians in our new century." |

NEC's Ariel String Quartet (in photo) won the Senior String Division Gold Medal and the overall Grand Prize Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in Indiana on May 7. The quartet is currently coached by violist Martha Strongin Katz.
Several quartets that study or receive coaching through NEC's Preparatory School also competed in the Junior Division at Fischoff, and half of the semifinalists had an NEC affiliation. |
