NEC Summer School: College/Adult Courses
Private Studio Instruction
Private classical and jazz instruction is offered at all levels by our highly qualified and experienced Summer School studio faculty; lessons are available in voice and most instruments. Private instruction is also offered in composition, conducting, jazz arranging, music theory, and orchestration.
For information about available instructors and private teacher placement, please call 617-585-1131 and speak with our receptionist. All private lessons for School of Continuing Education credit require special approval (call the Summer School Director at 617-585-1126) and in-person registration in Room 120, 241 St. Botolph Street.
After being placed with a private teacher, the student must confirm with that teacher the length and number of lessons they will receive. Students may register for non-credit private lessons by mail or fax, using the form in this catalogue, or by downloading an NEC Summer School registration form.
Non-credit: (some instructors’ fees may be higher)
60-minute lessons: $94/lesson
45-minute lessons: $70.50/lesson
30-minute lessons: $47/lesson
School of Continuing Education credit: (some instructors’ fees may be higher)
4 SCE credits: $2000 for 15 hours of instruction
3 SCE credits: $1500 for 11.25 hours of instruction
2 SCE credits: $1000 for 7.5 hours of instruction
College undergraduate or graduate credit: (requires availability of College faculty)
4 UG/G credits: $7665 for 15 hours of instruction
2 UG/G credits: $3832.50 for 7.5 hours of instruction
