Summer Piano Institute: The Music of Chopin

This intensive weekend explores the piano works of Chopin. The composer immersion format provides a forum for the professional, adult student, teacher, and advanced high school student. There will be opportunities for close study, practice, and exposure to the range of Chopin's works. Faculty will give presentations on various aspects of the works of Chopin, including performance traditions, historical interpretive approaches, and Chopin's own playing and teaching methods. Sessions will stress current topics in recent Chopin scholarship and their relevance for the pianist and piano teacher. The weekend culminates with a recital by the participants.

Participants perform in master classes, symposia, workshops, and the recital. Limit: 12 participating performers weekend.
Observers
(non-performing participants) may participate in discussions and attend all the sessions.
